INTERN

McKinney|Chicago, a full-service business branding and marketing communications agency, is offering an entry-level paid internship starting immediately.

Job Summary
As an intern, the right candidate will be immersed in the agency's work, learning the ground level, day-to-day operations needed to begin a career in integrated marketing communications. The program is designed to expose the selected intern to areas within account management, media planning/buying, production, social web/networking, editing/proofing, research and advertising creative design.

Requirements:

  • Prior internship in advertising or marketing preferred, especially those with life science and/or technology industry focus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and resourceful "can do" attitude
  • Superior organization skills
  • Mac and MS Office proficiency; experience with Adobe CS is a plus

SEO CONSULTANT

McKinney|Chicago, a full-service business branding and marketing communications agency, is seeking a part-time SEO Consultant.

Responsibilities:

  • Support SEO Manager in the day-to-day management and execution of SEO campaigns
  • Perform keyword research and GAP analysis
  • Develop and execute extensive link building campaigns
  • Assist with the management of social media marketing campaigns
  • Work with SEO Manager to develop a reporting framework and provide ongoing SEO reports
  • Work with SEO team to understand local market requirements and identify SEO growth opportunities
  • Define, monitor, and analyze SEO key performance indicators (KPI's) to continually improve campaigns
  • Compile industry research, competitive landscape information, and trade intelligence for SEO strategy development and optimization
  • Stay abreast of new natural search engine optimization developments and opportunities in the SEO domain and incorporate into ongoing campaign management and support

Experience:

  • BA/BS in Marketing or related field

  • Familiarization of search engine algorithms and ranking strategies
  • Experience with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics
  • Experience with keyword research and search engine ranking and analysis tools
  • Experience in search optimization with relation to popular social media platforms and rich content
  • General understanding of HTML, CSS, and web server environments
  • High attention to detail, and ability to effectively manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work independently and synthesize large amounts of data while meeting tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic team environment
  • Experience in Google AdWords and paid search

PUBLIC RELATIONS SPECIALIST

McKinney|Chicago is a full-service advertising and PR agency seeking a Public Relations Specialist to assist the PR director in conceptualizing, creating and implementing timely and relevant public relations campaigns.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a point-of-contact for established PR clients
  • Participate in the development and writing of requested public relations materials including: media kits, news releases, backgrounder, talking points, by-lined articles, etc.
  • Assist executives as needed for internal and client related marketing and public relations projects

Requirements:

  • Extremely organized and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously, works well under pressure and is able to meet deadlines
  • Able to identify appropriate story concept angles, conceptualize and develop strong supporting copy for use in public relations initiatives
  • News savvy with an understanding of messaging and positioning
  • Proficient at editing and has a thorough understanding of the AP style format
  • A team player and willing to perform tasks above and beyond job description
  • Detail oriented and a self-starter, requires minimal supervision
  • Maintains a positive attitude and has a sincere desire to fill a fast-paced, high-impact role within the organization

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-3 years public relations /media relations experience
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing/English/Communications/Public Relations or a related field
  • Experience with media contact/outlet list building and media monitoring strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with outreach utilizing various social media channels is a plus
  • Experience in a B2B agency with training in print and/or digital media is preferred
  • Organizational skills and the ability to take on a diverse project load are a must
